I started making and selling tropical style M-43 caps in the 1970s and since 2004 I've been selling these caps online.
Unfortunately after a temporary problem with both of my websites, my ratings on some search engines were damaged. Everything is fixed, but now I have very few new visitors and very few sales. With the exception of a few loyal customers, everything has just stopped. I'll eventually have to close the site but for now I'll keep it up as long as possible. I don't know what else to do. I don't want to go back to ebay. Running out of time and energy too.
It took me 20 years of hard work and doing good business to achieve those search ratings for my sites. Now that I'm getting older I don't have time to wait for the search engines to slowly find and reconnect to all the links that they once had to my sites.
At this rate I'll never sell these caps in my lifetime. I'll continue to offer them individually but I've also decided to offer the remaining stock of tropical camo M-43 caps as a Discounted Group.
Also, I can no longer afford to offer free shipping on caps. I have to start charging a $5 flat fee for shipping. It used to be about $2.60. when I started selling caps, now it's over $6.00.
My $25. price was based on the following:
The camouflage fabric for each cap costs about $7. (Camo fabric $35. - $50. per yard) (about 4 caps per yard)
$10. Per hour, actually, more than 1 hour of labor to mark, cut and assemble the 8 pieces of fabric and 1 visor into a quality M-43 cap. (11 parts for caps with flaps)
A Tropical M-43 Cap takes about an hour and a half to make from scratch.
A Tropical M-43 Cap with side flaps takes about 2 hours to make.
Wool Fold-Down M-43 Caps with buttons can take up to 3 hours or more to complete.
Then to the post office to give them $6.00 plus for parcel post!
These caps will still be available individually for $25.
Also the remaining stock will also be available for purchase as a group. First come, first served.
